about

We are a group of working musicians who love to play chamber music together! Chamber music involves a small group of musicians, such as the iconic string quartet, and has been around for centuries. It is often referred to as the ‘music for musicians’ - a chance to gather in a more intimate setting and enjoy conversation through our instruments (with plenty of snacks and laughs of course). The only thing that makes this experience more magical is being able to share it with you!

our mission

The mission of the Brooklyn Chamber Players is to cultivate community through high-quality chamber music, warm hospitality, and unforgettable events for musicians and audiences alike.

our values

Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. Working together, listening to each other, and responding in kind are what shape BCP performances into unique and unforgettable experiences. Musicians and audience members alike rely on each other to bring performances to their fullest form.

Inclusion drives relevant music making. We strive for our musicians, the works we program, the venues in which we perform, and our audiences to mirror the wonderfully prolific and diverse community in which we live.

Hospitality fosters belonging. Cultivating a welcoming environment and a sense of belongingness for musicians, audiences, and partners is essential groundwork to lasting and meaningful relationships.

Participation is honored. By compensating musicians for their work we help ensure rewarding experiences for our audiences and other collaborators.

Flexibility is essential. Unique experiences are congruous with a creative approach to programming, setting, and nuanced music making.

Innovation leads to reflection and growth. Approaching our work with curiosity keeps our programming fresh and vibrant.
